somewhere in the desert, ca
took this one a while back. Just found it again in iPhoto.

flipping through a autotrader has got me wanting a new toy. not too serious yet, I have my eyes out though... maybe within the year....
So, as I've detailed
here before, we usually don't end up at an Irish pub for St. Paddy's day even though I really want to. It just rarely works out properly which is unfortunate. We are off tonight to go try yet again this year...
Anyways, for those of you that don't know, compared to America, Ireland has a real drinking culture which everyone in my family has experienced firsthand. You go into a bar at lunchtime, and you're still there when they are pulling the shutters and sweeping the floor up.
Sure, you may laugh, or think i'm bsing you, but I'm not. At all. And if you aren't in a bar at lunchtime, fear not, for all shops / workplaces close at 5 on the dot, and immediately thereafter everyone in the vicinity leaves work and heads directly to the nearest corner pub.
Basically, Mardi Gras - but nightly; 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It was really a crazy amount of fun the last time we were in Ireland, but as you can imagine very detrimental to our health.
The point of all this is to say don't expect a blog posting tomorrow, for "I'll be nursing me sore head from too much Guinness"
Also for all of the Kanaly relatives, the Bishops from several states have given the green light to go ahead and eat meat today. It will not be considered a sin. So enjoy the Corned Beef and Cabbage. Especially you Chuck. I expect a drunk call tonight.
Cheers!
So the Chargers lost Brees. Typical. Again A San Diego team lets another star get away...
They are obviously not comitted to creating a champion. The evidence is clear: They were under the cap by $17 million last year. 17 MILLION. This is obviously good for accounting and lining their pockets, but not for building a team, or buying the people you need to become a champion.
When he originally was due to sign, Philip Rivers threw a hissy fit, and became the backup QB. Now he's going to be the starter, meanwhile Drew Brees did everything that was asked of him.
Is it any wonder that Eli Manning refused to play for the Chargers? Sigh.
My trade for him in Fantasy Football seems more justified now last season.

You can ask anyone who knows me well if I really like technology and the resounding answer would probably be "of course", but at times it annoys the hell out of me. I seem to have random "bursts" of computer issues. The last of these was in about '01 when I had 3 consecutive western digital drives fail on me in 1 month.
I guess I was due for another round this year: Last week my PowerBook died. I'll admit I was multitasking pretty hardcore at the time, but it just froze and died. After restarting, I got the folder with a "?" logo on it. Sigh. 3 hrs later, and a trip to the Genius Bar at Costa Mesa Apple Store, my PowerBook was turned in for a new HD under warranty.
My backup Sawtooth machine ended up being my main machine for the last week. As i've mentioned before, its a blazingly fast 400mhz. Sigh.
As if that wasn't enough computer drama for the week, Krisdee's Vaio Laptop overheated and powered off (no detectable thermal damage as far as we can tell), One of the drives in the Sawtooth died (an ibm nonetheless), and my XM radio went on the fritz and died as well.
So after 1 week of reinstalling, formatting, various arguments with customer service technicians, and overall reorganization of my home network, 1 new laptop hard drive later, 1 new XM radio unit later, everything is (finally) back to normal.
"cool"
I should be good for a few more years....
