Geeky Weekend Plans
With any luck, this weekend I'll get my hands on a g4 Quicksilver to setup as a home multimedia server/player. Hopefully it will run FrontRow, and i'll devise some way to get it to be a tivo of somesort as well. If I do get the machine, my geeked out plans for the weekend will involve installing and uninstalling Operating Systems, and Hard Drives.
The g4 Sawtooth PowerMac is currently a simple fileserver. I'd love to be able to set it up as the multimedia center, but at 400mhz, it struggles serving up iTunes and backing up data files from my PowerBook. The window redraw is TEDIOUSLY slow as well. Grrr.

Sigh of relief...
I'm finally all caught up in work and life at the moment. I guess you could say that is a good thing.
I still have about a billion portfolio ideas and design ideas floating around in my head still that i've put on the temporary backburner for now. I hope to be able to find time to experiment with them and throw something together "soon-ish".

Updating this site
Sometimes I am so bad at updating this site. Other times, the server is down and it's not my fault. Oh well. I guess the box's boot sector crashed. All the data was raided, so everything should be fine with the site. I just had to wait until someone could boot the box using a CD and reinstall boot manager.
Also, my
birthday is coming up on March 8th... round and round we turn...

Temecula Pics
The calm after the storm. It's in the 70's today, and as such, it looks like a great day to go for a jog to the beach and enjoy some cool, crisp beach air. Of course, i'm sitting inside working on the computer instead.

Overloaded with work

Ahh. It's Friday, i'm overloaded with work (which isn't necessarily bad). Already 1 Redbull and 1 Coffee in. I feel the same way as her right now...
Tomorrow: Wine Tasting in Temecula. Should be a good relaxing weekend.

Kayla's Development

(1) She can roll over from her back to her stomach.
(2) Will laugh and giggle at a game of peek a boo.
(3) Enjoys giggling and staring at Roxy.
(4) Massages her gums with her hands - constantly. We think she must be teething...

Stuff Kayla Has Eaten:
Food(1) Breastmilk and Formula
(2) Rice Cereal - It's oats, she seems to get bored with this.
(3) Small piece of Ahi Tuna Krisdee gave her - She only tasted it once. Once was enough. She puked right after.
(4) Ponzu Sauce (small dab) - She seemed to like this more than the small piece of ahi (which isn't saying much). Judging by the look on her face, you'd have thought I fed her lemons.
(5) Small piece of ginger (I rubbed on her lip) - see number 4 above.
(6) Rice - It's hard work getting it into her mouth when she's grumpy. But she'll eat it when she's hungry. Well, I dunno about eat, more like let it hang from her mouth a bit before it falls out. It's very cute to watch. I should take some pics.
(7) Chicken and Rice - She ate the whole jar. I think she's a serious carnivore like her father :)
Sleep and Nursery Rhymes
Kayla has been sleeping longer throughout the night. 7 to 9 hours straight!
Lately, its been a little weird to be getting so much sleep. We kept waking up to check if she was still alive... We are finally just now getting used to it.
Also, I find it a bit frustrating how babies and kids just LOVE nursery rhymes and kid songs. I can't STAND them. Grrrr. Kayla hasn't watched or listened to much of that on my time. She watches Sportscenter, purely for selfish reasons on my behalf of course :)
Nursery rhymes are just so repetitive and silly. One question that has always bugged me and still remains is.... WHY does the little pig have roast beef???
Thoughts?

Back on a (somewhat) normal schedule
Well i'm back as you can tell from my post last week, and finally recovered from the time difference, which was quite huge. I'm finally all caught up. For a while there, I had this daytime zombie thing going on that reminded me of my days at the UofO - sleeping at day, playing / working during the nights. It didn't quite work out when I had day classes to attend though.
I used to love the quiet existance at 4am. Coming home from the 3d Computer Lab after a long night of rendering - Street lights buzzing, No birds, No cars, No people, No colors, Just the moon shining across a black sky full of stars.
I used to love driving at night. Through the empty streets and past the ghostly shadows across Eugene to my apartment. I loved to drown myself in the silence - surrounded by my thoughts, dreams and fantasies.
But how things change. I think having a job quickly put things into REAL perspective. Getting married, having a daughter.
Now I can't imagine wasting away my days. There's so much to do and see. So much to live for. So much to love.
