Just another day in the National League Worst
With only a handful of games remaining, the San Diego Madres are playing .500 ball, yet find themselves 4 full games in first place ahead of the second place Giants. So, it's looking more and more like 81- 81 will, indeed, win the NL Worst. I'm not sure, however, that the Padres will end the season with a .500 record. So, I guess the question is, really, will 80-82 be enough to win the NL West?...

I used to watch the Padres, though... Moores has to open that squeeky clasped shut wallet of his and spend money on players, putting money on the field.

I will say this though, the Padres DEFINATELY don't have the budget or the name players that LA does - they overachieved somewhat this year. Now they have two of the top NL starters in Peavy and Eaton and a great closer, they have a real good second baseman and an up and coming shortstop and then Giles, but they don't have the talent that the Angels do - yet they have their division all but sewn up.

Regardless, the Padres are making history before our eyes. They now sit one game under .500 at 78-79, yet lead their division by four games.

A few posts back I thought the Padres would win more than half their games with such a weak schedule remaining, but now I'm not so sure. They have been playing lousy this past week and don't seem to be up to the challenge of playing .500 ball for the year.

I doubt many people realize just how bad the division would be if they didn't get the benefit of beating up on each other.

The Padres have a chance to make history tonight at Petco Park. With a victory over the Giants, the San Diego Padres can clinch the NL West and climb to an even .500 at the same time.

The NL East will feature Florida and Washtington fighting to stay out of the cellar, but both teams are currently two games over .500. This could be the year one entire division's teams finish above .500 (NL EAST) while another division's teams (NL WEST) finish below .500.

Will this be historic, pathetic, or historically pathetic? Thoughts?

Light up the Halo!
Angels Clinched the WEST! @ Oakland tonight!

Another great year. I predict the Angels will go DEEP in the postseason.

The 2002 World Series Championship I partially attribute to the Angels ability to control Barry, and walk him whenever necessary. The Angels have the best bullpen in baseball (lowest era consistently since '98) and we didn't pitch to him. You'd think the Dodgers would get a clue.

Kayla's first day out!
Kayla is doing well.

We took her out for the first time yesterday. She didnt like it as we were leaving, but once we got her out in the mall meandering she was fine. Here is a pic of her first day out before we got to the mall. You can see how much she enjoyed it!

Ok, so the sarcasm was pretty thick there!

Here's one of her sleeping. Aww, how cute!

Winning is a Brees!
Anyone watch the Giants vs Chargers game?

Great to see the "media darling" Eli Manning take what he had coming from the offensive attack led by Brees and LT.

So the Chargers got the final say afterall eh?

45-23 Feels great!

My hope is that Cleveland will win the wild card so one of those "beloved" Eastern teams will NOT be in the playoffs.

When it comes to Baseball, ESPN is EAST COAST BIASED. Period.

Don't believe me? If an east coast team doesn't make the World Series, they probably won't even cover it. At the very least only basic minimal coverage.

California has FIVE major league baseball teams. Granted, some are bad teams but FIVE nonetheless. So how does majority justify bias? This year there are THREE California teams in contention. Last year all FIVE California teams were in contention! Minimal coverage.

EasternSPortsNetwork
Just now, I switched to SC on the EasternSPortsNetwork (ESPN) to see how they would recap the Angels game. It was a replay I believe.

They started off with "Let's take a look at all the games involving AL contenders", and proceeded to re-cap the White Sox game against the Twins, the Indians game against the the Royals, and the Yankee game against the Orioles.

Then they talked about the Red Sox, who didn't play today.

After that, they put up a graphic with the pitching probables for "AL Contenders" for tomorrow (saying "Let's take a look at the pitching probables for all of the AL contenders tomorrow").

Then they showed the probables for the Stanks, Sox, Indians, and White Sox.

Not a mention of the Angels or their game or even the A's for that matter. Guess the EasternSPortsNetwork thinks they only have 4 AL contenders. Hmmmmmm... The only time they show the Angels is when they lose. They've been doing that for weeks.

Also, how much did they talk about Colon's 20th win the other night? I missed it but I would wager it wasn't very long. If that was Schilling or some other East Coast pitcher, they would have wanted to throw him a parade or other such nonsense.

I guess I shouldn't worry about ESPN. They'll be showing plenty of the Angels winning in the playoffs

Just a quick update:
Just a quick update:
The baby is now on the bottle for the time being, so I get to be "Nutrient-Man" and deliver the food finally. It's actually quite fun to be the feeder-dude; the giver-of-life; the "King of Milk" for once.

I was always curious if Kayla 's cries for food got louder when she saw me coming instead of Mommy. "Oh, it's him, he doesnt have what I want, WAAAAAH!"

So what if it's Krisdee's Milk, the way I see it, Krisdee is the Wholesaler, and I'm the Distributor... The dealer, if you will. :) This ought to confuse her when we go back to boob only though...

Hapa babies are so weird looking!

Everytime I look at my daughter, I can't decide whether she looks more like me or her mother!

I know it's really too early to tell. It's just a game everyone loves to play.

I reckon she's got my family's green eyes though 8)

So "Labor Day" wasn't "Labor Day" but the day after was...

Kayla was born at 5:41pm on Sept 6.

With that said the whole experience is really nutty. It'll really blow your hair back thats for sure.

I'm not about to go into detail here about it, so i'll upload some pics for everyone to see. The black and white I let my photography and art background get the best of me :) That's definately print worthy if I do say so myself!

Here's one with a little attitude. This was taken just moments after she was born.

One of my fave's :)
